2017 was another successful season for the Merchants. The boys won their second straight CRBL South division crown with a league record 21 wins against only one loss, along with another CRBL championship. The season ended as it did the previous year, losing in the state title game. The pitching staff was anchored by Jake Peterson and Logan Boettcher, who were nearly unhittable. Jesse Brockman, Todd Weinkes, Sam Waters, Nolan Matson, and Joe Zawacki led a talented defense, to name a few. The offense featured consistent and timely hitting, but was fueled by Ryan Freitag, The Ryno shattered league records by bashing 13 dingers and knocking in 48 RBI’s. He also batted an even .500, and led the league in walks (25) and runs (33). Luke Anderson will take over managerial duties from Garrett Nix in 2018. Garrett will be missed in the clubhouse. 2018 will feature the unveiling of our fully operational grandstand. The timing couldn’t be better, considering Osseo will host the WBA state finals in August. Thanks to all of our local sponsors, without them none of this would be possible. See you at the ballpark.
